Dagenais tops final QMJHL Entry Draft rankings

Many Quinte Red Devils’ graduates move on to have significant impacts in higher leagues.

It seems that Maddox Dagenais is set to do just that. QMJHL Central Scouting Service (CSR) has released its final rankings for the upcoming entry draft, with the left-shooting forward identified as the top prospect.

A dynamic offensive contributor, Dagenais registered 42 goals and 39 assists in 35 regular-season games with the U16 Red Devils, which helped him earn Player of the Year honours in the OMHA East.

His strong play continued into the postseason, tallying an additional 17 points in ten contests.

A Montreal native, Dagenais is the son of Pierre, a former QMJHL standout and NHL veteran who saw action with the New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers and Montreal Canadiens throughout his career.

The Cape Breton Eagles hold the coveted first overall pick, followed by the Val-d’Or Foreurs, the Québec Remparts, and the Saint John Sea Dogs.

Regardless of where he is drafted, Dagenais possesses all the necessary traits to elevate any franchise.

The annual priority selection is scheduled to take place on June 7th and 8th at the Avenir Centre in Moncton.
