Fournier sets sight on OJHL Championship



David Fournier has come to embrace each moment with the Trenton Golden Hawks.


His latest challenge is taking on the Collingwood Blues in the Nutrafarms OJHL Championship Series.


The impending finals rematch holds special significance. It's a chance for redemption.


Now in contention again, Fournier can't help but reflect on his journey to this pivotal moment.


His path to the Golden Hawks began with an email invitation to participate in a development camp.


The right-shot forward caught the attention of talent evaluators through his standout performances at Collège Esther-Blondin.


His tryout in Trenton proved to be a turning point. The opportunity to attend ultimately altered the course of his junior hockey career.


Fournier showcased his exceptional skating abilities and offensive skills, leaving a strong impression on the franchise.


Since then, the Blainville, Quebec native has been a consistent performer for the organization.


What sets Fournier apart is his versatility. His well-rounded style has earned him the trust of teammates and coaches.


"I take a lot of pride in playing a complete game," he said. "We know if we play solid defensively and control the puck, good things will happen. Obviously, that is working right now."


After an excellent regular season, Fournier was crucial in helping the Golden Hawks secure a consecutive Eastern Conference title.


Although delighted with his team-leading offensive production in the playoffs, which has seen him register seven goals and 22 points in 14 games.


Fournier instead attributes his most recent success to the valuable lessons he has learned from previous high-stakes contests.


"I gained a lot of experience last year," he said." I didn't play that much, but being with the team and going on a run like that gave me a lot of confidence for this year."


As the Golden Hawks gear up for another hard-fought series, Fournier will undoubtedly be ready to continue making a difference.
