A historic offensive season for the Trenton Golden Hawks is getting league-wide recognition.

Taeo Artichuk and Jack Ziliotto were named to the OJHL’s First All-Star Team following a season in which Trenton ranked among the top offensive teams in junior A hockey.

The Golden Hawks finished 45-9-0-2 and led the Eastern Conference with 288 goals, trailing only the Toronto Patriots.

Artichuk won the league scoring title with 108 points in 55 games, including a league-best 71 assists both of which are Golden Hawks records, and was named East Conference Player of the Month three times this season.

The recent honour adds to the Ajax native’s decorated tenure in Trenton. After spending parts of three seasons with the Erie Otters, he's now the franchise’s all-time leading scorer with 240 points.

His 153 assists are also the most in team history. In 144 career games, Artichuk tallied 87 goals, trailing only Brady Wiffen.

Along with last year’s Buckland Cup championship, Artichuk was also named to the league’s First All-Star Team alongside David Fournier.

Ziliotto led the league with 40 goals and finished second in scoring with 90 points in 55 games after returning to the OJHL for his overage season following a stint with the Sudbury Wolves last year.

The Waterdown native spent three seasons in the OJHL, split between the Mississauga Chargers and the Golden Hawks, notching 78 goals and 106 assists in 162 games.

Ziliotto is one of only five Golden Hawks in team history to score at least 40 goals in a season.
